Chapter I: The world situation.

            The world has been through an economic collapse and several global conflicts.
            Tensions remain high in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ukraine, and Georgia.
            For now things have quieted down — but is that really the end of it?

            Nagorno-Karabakh conflict:
            After the armed conflict between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan in 1991–1994, Karabakh gained full independence from Azerbaijan and Armenia and has existed in relative stability ever since.

            UPD: 25.05.2024:
            As of January 2013 (narrative date 25 May 2024), Armenia deployed troops to Nagorno-Karabakh to protect its population. Azerbaijan temporarily withdrew from the region.

            Donbas and Crimea:
            Dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian government spreads across the country. Separatist sentiment grows in the Donbas and in Sevastopol.

            Abkhazia and South Ossetia:
            UPD: 25.05.2024:
            As of January 2013 (narrative date 25 May 2024), separatists in South Ossetia and Abkhazia declared independence and issued Georgia an ultimatum — withdraw armed forces from South Ossetian and Abkhaz territory within 24 hours. Georgia refused and reinforced its positions in South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

            The Russian Federation announces full support for the separatists and sends troops into South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

            The Russian Federation drove Georgian forces out of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. South Ossetia and Abkhazia are now independent unrecognized states.
            It remains unknown what steps Georgia will take in response to the uprising and the liberation of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

            Side story:
            Players discovered the first easter egg. Grandpa Maxim faked his death to escape someone. He may be hiding in Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania, or Latvia.
            Players found a second easter egg: Grandpa Maxim faked his death to get away from relatives and launch into space on a rocket he plans to build in Siberia.
